Brooke and Kendal's passion for spray tans and uplifting others led to the creation of High Maintanance. Brooke discovered her love for spray tanning in college, where she witnessed its transformative effects on confidence. She invited her sister Kendal to join, who quickly shared her enthusiasm while in college, honing her skills alongside her studies.
Their dream of launching High Maintanance grew throughout the years, driven by their shared commitment to providing personalized, exceptional service. With over a decade of combined experience, Brooke and Kendal ensure each client receives a perfectly tailored tan.

Brooke Applegate
Co-Owner + Certified Spray Tan Tech
Brooke has been perfecting the art of spray tanning for over seven years, initially as a fun side hustle to support herself through college. Her dream of fully launching this brand has been her 'Roman Empire.' In 2024, Brooke took the leap to pursue this passion full-time, eager to see its full potential. A true people pleaser, she strives for perfection in every spray tan she delivers. Brooke loves meeting new people and forming new friendships, and she is genuinely passionate about ensuring that everyone who leaves with a tan from her feels confident and ready to take on the world.
Kendal Stanley
Co-Owner + Certified Spray Tan Tech
Kendal joined her sister Brooke in the spray tan business while in college and has been perfecting her craft for over four years now. As a natural caretaker, Kendal ensures that her clients feel truly taken care of and leave each session feeling empowered and confident in their new glow. Alongside her passion for spray tanning, Kendal works as an Oncology nurse, dedicating her professional life to caring for others. On her days off, she can be found driving to tanning appointments, combining her nurturing nature with her love for beauty and helping people feel their best.

Both Brooke and Kendal are proud dog moms to Golden Retrievers! Brooke has a 4-year-old named Riley, and Kendal has a 2-year-old named Honey. Even more special, Riley and Honey are sisters from the same dad. Want to get Brooke and Kendal talking non-stop? Just bring up their fur babies in any conversation!
You know the saying, "Moms always right?" Well it's true.
Like all sisters, Brooke and Kendal didn't start out as besties, especially with four years between them. Growing up, they had totally opposite personalities and styles—think Mary-Kate and Ashley in "New York Minute." Despite their differences and frequent fights, their mom, Kristy, would always say, "You both are going to be best friends one day, just wait." And Mama Kristy was right.
Their genuine friendship began when Kristy made 16-year-old Brooke drive Kendal to school and wherever she needed to go. Despite initial reluctance, those car rides bonded them through music jam sessions and making Vine videos (if you know, you know). Over time, they became each other's ultimate best friends. While they find it weird to say "I love you" to each other, they got matching heart tattoos to express their love without words.
